Organic Purple Sweet Potato

The Okinawan purple sweet potato is the staple that saved many from famine and starvation in the typhoon-laden southern Japanese island chain.

The sweet potato was introduced to Okinawa around the 17th century from China. It has a sweet appetizing flavor, a good source of Vitamin C and fiber, and is said to possess an antioxidant quality. 

The sweet potato has a light, whitish skin with lavender flesh than turns a deep purple when cooked. 

We are excited to announce that we are now the first grower on the Big Island of Hawaii to offer Organic Purple Sweet Potato.
